Lightning storms.

June 18, 2011

Some very active storms passed just to the north of here this evening. Tornado warnings were in effect. We got zip rain from these, though I’m sure someone did.

Frank, this is my first look at your other website, and I didn’t realize what I’ve been missing. This set of lightning photos is just amazing. I think that 1744 is my favorite, as it shows the structure of the clouds that are the heart of the storm. Really spectacular!

Thanks Gary. This shot shows a “wall cloud” at lower right, which is a precursor of a tornado. Getting a good photo of a tornado is on my bucket list 🙂

I really hope you do–but not at peril of life and limb. If it comes to pass, I can’t wait to see your results!
